Online Event: “Women Disrupting Their Industries” – Meet our Panellists

In honour of International Women’s Day 2022, the Leaders of Tech community are joining forces with Women Who Mean Business to create an online event highlighting women who are disrupting their industries.

Challenging the status quo is how change is made. And despite the inherent risk that comes with pushing boundaries, countless women have shown us that doing so has the power to transform the world forever.

Join us at our joint WWMB and Leaders of Tech event as we listen and learn from 3 incredible women on how their disruptive work is pushing past “the way things have always been” to create a future that is more impactful, more sustainable, and more inclusive for everyone.

Meet Our Panellists

Heather Morris, Angel Investor

Heather Morris is an angel investor focused on supporting and advising sustainably minded businesses and, in particular, female founders. She has spent her career identifying outstanding founders and helping them solve problems, open doors, and get access to capital. 

Most recently, Heather was the Chief Strategy Officer at Chegg(NYSE:CHGG), a digital learning platform for students. There, she drove strategic planning, corporate development and investments. During her time at Chegg, Heather completed a series of strategic acquisitions that bolstered the company’s offerings in math (Mathway, Math42), writing (Imagine EasySolutions, including EasyBib and BibMe, as well as WriteLab and RefMe),tutoring (InstaEDU), study tools (StudyBlue), skills-based learning (Thinkful)and careers (Internships.com), as well as several investments, both domestically and internationally.

Prior to Chegg, Heather was on the Internet and Digital Media InvestmentBanking team at J.P. Morgan. She covered large Internet companies likeFacebook, Netflix and Dropbox, as well as leading coverage of emerging private companies. After completing her BBA with an entrepreneurship concentration at Brock University in Ontario, Heather went on to complete her MBA from TheUniversity of Chicago Booth School of Business with analytical finance and entrepreneurship concentrations.

Camille Tate, Head of Talent, Strava

Camille Tate is currently Head of Talent at Strava, the #1 global social networking app for athletes, where she leads an amazing group of Talent Professionals in building diverse teams. After starting her career in technology staffing with a globally recognized firm, she went on to spend a long-standing tenure with reputable brands such as Redbox, Match.com, The Beck Group and now Strava. Through her experience in business development, recruiting, talent branding, and training, Camille has truly recognized that it’s not how many positions you fill, but how well you connect and build trust with the people you work with.

As a 16+ year veteran in recruiting, Camille enjoys the day-to-day of putting together the foundational building blocks of talent acquisition and establishing a path for teams to attract and retain exceptional talent.  She has several designations including, the Professional in HumanResources (PHR), SHRM-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), a BBA in Business Information Systems from Tennessee State University, and MBA from Strayer University. Camille is also the Founder/Co-Owner of The Career Salon, LLC and Co-Host of The Career SalonPodcast with the HR Twins. She is a sought after speaker, panelist, and contributor to the Human Resources and TalentAcquisition communities. Camille resides in Dallas, Texas with her husband of 11 years, and their 3 year old son.
